Improving flood safety in the city of Dęblin The subject of the order is the expansion of the right flood embankment of the river. Wieprz on the section in the new embankment kilometer at km 0+000 ÷ 5+677, as part of the investment project titled "Improving safety flood zone of the city of Dęblin". The embankment protects the Dęblin-Masów valley located between the Dęblin Airport and the railway bridge on the section estuary to the Vistula River. This area is inhabited by approximately 4, 000 inhabitants. Residential buildings, farm buildings, public utilities, infrastructure and roads, especially military facilities of the Military Aviation Base in Dęblin. The area protected by flood embankments is approximately 10.8 km2. The award of the contract is purposeful and justified by necessity carrying out activities necessary to prepare and implement the investment, which will contribute to reducing flood risk and reducing potential social, economic and environmental losses. Fulfillment of the order is a condition for achievement the expected effects of the project and the implementation of the tasks of PGW Wody Polskie in the field of flood protection. The task is planned to be financed from the state budget funds at the disposal of the Minister of Infrastructure and from European Union funds under the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027 (FEnIKS) program.
