The object of this evaluation is the Mother- and Child-Friendly Health Establishments (ESAMyN) strategy implemented in Ecuador by the MSP. This has been implemented in 18 health facilities that have benefited more than 36 thousand mothers. This evaluation will provide a comprehensive assessment of the performance of the implementation of the ESAMyN regulations in health facilities with a particular focus on the provinces of Pichincha, Guayas, Chimborazo, Imbabura and Morona Santiago. This with the purpose of providing feedback to the strategy and its implementation, in addition to generating evidence for the legal profession. This evaluation seeks, especially, to determine: The level of relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability of the strategy to be national level and in the territories where it has been implemented. The success factors or barriers to the implementation of the ESAMyN strategy in the selected territories. The degree of articulation of the strategy with other Government initiatives national, local governments, and other relevant actors; and the elements that contributed or hindered this articulation. The extent of integration of the human rights and gender equality approach in the implementation of the strategy. The identification of good practices to improve the strategy.
