Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items/services prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, utilizing FAR part 13 procedures, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.

(ii) The solicitation number is 12305B24Q0071 and this combined synopsis/solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ).

(iii) A statement that the solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2024-03, February 23, 2024.

(iv) This is a Full and Open acquisition with no set-aside and the associated NAICS code is 334516.

(v) There will be 0001-line item with a Quantity of 1 and the Unit of Measure will be Each.

(vi) The ARS Environmental Microbial and Food Safety Laboratory (EMFSL) in Beltsville, Maryland plans to purchase a Raman imaging spectrograph and a highly sensitive camera to develop a new compact macro-scale line-scan Raman chemical imaging system for food safety research. Since the spectrograph and the camera will need to work with a recently purchased 808 nm high-power diode line laser to form the whole measurement system, these two hardware components must work and optimize at 808 nm excitation to ensure high-quality Raman scattering signals to inspect food and agricultural products.
