Image quality measurements A clean city starts with insight into the quality of public space. By structurally measuring this quality, we can focus on efforts to achieve a clean city. The measurements make it possible to assess whether the public space meets the set quality standards. By regularly checking quality, the municipality can proactively respond to possible deterioration. In this way it is possible to switch quickly and intervene more quickly in the event of an emergency decline in quality. CROW measurements have been carried out in The Hague in recent years. To measure the quality of Cleanliness in public spaces, measurements must be made in accordance with this CROW method. This means that for one reliable sample in the city, approximately 3200 measuring locations (areas of 100x100 meters, which have been determined by the municipality of The Hague) must be carried out per quarter. 22 image measuring rods must be assessed for the measurement locations. This means for example, that fine litter on paving and in green areas is examined at each measuring location, and dumped bulky waste or the filling level of a waste bin are also examined.
