Tender Details

Expression of Interest are invited for Identification of financial solutions that scale AgTech innovations for food security

CGAP is commissioning research that synthesizes and describes the types of financial solutions that seem more effective in promoting the development and adoption at scale of a specific set of agricultural technologies (Ag Techs) in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC). Namely: (i) agriculture fintechs with bundled financial services; (ii) farm robotics, mechanization and equipment; (iii) Ag biotech, bioenergy, and biomaterials; (iv) novel farming systems, and (v) agriculture marketplacew. The definition of each of these categories is explained further below.

The emphasis of the research is to conduct a thorough literature review that synthesizes evidence on which type of financial solutions are more effective to support the development and adoption at scale of the above-mentioned AgTech categories.

The final report will include an evidence-based discussion of how the financial solutions identified can help scale the development and adoptions of the AgTechs of focus, and how public investments contribute to making these financial solutions available and ensuring they are complemented with other necessary public and private interventions.
