Hutt City CouncilHUTT CITY COUNCIL. AVA RAIL BRIDGE SHARED USE PATH REPLACEMENT DSG. RFx ID: 32116885. Reference: HCCARBJULY2025DESIGN. Close Date: Friday, 08 August 2025, 2:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+12:00). Tender Type: Request for Proposals (RFP). Region: Wellington Overview: HCC is seeking to engage a qualified and experienced design consultancy to deliver the design, planning, and consenting services for the Ava Rail Bridge Shared Use Path Replacement project. This project involves replacing an ageing pedestrian structure with a safe and accessible shared use path clip-on alongside the Ava Rail Bridge, a key connection in Lower Hutt-s active transport network. The successful Respondent will be responsible for delivering the full design scope from concept through to Issued for Construction (IFC), and preparing and lodging a land use consent application with HCC and Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC). Coordination with Council-s internal teams, the Quantity Surveyor (QS), and input from the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase will be critical to ensuring the design is buildable, cost-effective, and ready for construction January 2026. This RFP relates to Hutt City Council-s (HCC-s) commitment to delivering safe, inclusive, and connected active transport infrastructure that supports walking, cycling, and broader sustainability and accessibility goals across the city. The Ava Rail Bridge Shared Use Path Replacement project directly contributes to these objectives by upgrading a key strategic route in the network.
