Description : Objectives

Strong Liaison and Outreach: To apply extensive and robust liaison practices with a variety of conflict stakeholders to strengthen the extent of community engagement in mine action, the acceptance of future mine action interventions and quality of land release activities.

Land release: To release land in Faryab province enabling the respective communities to productively and safely use the cleared land and prevent further loss of life and limbs.

Data collection: To enable quality planning, prioritization and advocacy through the collection of victim, hazard and fresh Non-Technical Survey (NTS) data in Faryab province.

Formal mine/ERW risk education: To ensure that the communities in this province are fully aware of mine action activities, and that safe behavior and awareness against the risks that explosive hazards in the area present are promoted.

Capacity Building: To ensure that the capacity of key MAPA partners is continually invested in across a variety of competencies that will see improvements to activities, funding levels, and strategic planning in mine action in Afghanistan.[MA1]

Visibility and Advocacy: To advocate for the need for continued mine action support in Afghanistan and to document the achievements by all stakeholders.
