BackgroundEvery year more than 8 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans and killing 100, 000 marine mammals (UN Ocean conference, 2017). WFP has joined a global campaign to #BeatPlasticPollution and has accordingly started to phase out single-use plastics. To continue supporting and implementing the campaign, as well as raising broader awareness of the issue, the WFP Communications and Media Office (COM) division seeks to purchase reusable water bottles branded with WFP's logo. The water bottles shall be sold as merchandise/visibility items and used by the WFP staff at home and work, including in public occasions.To that effect, a WFP tender for the supply of reusable water bottles shall be posted, shortly. ResponseTo participate in the tender pre-selection exercise, companies are advised that to work with WFP, it must provide proof of a minimum of 3 years legal establishment/ commercial incorporation period. In addition, companies are required to respond to this EOI and provide the following:Certification of zero carbon footprint and bluesign(r) technologies to further reduce the environmental impact of their supply chain;Certify that the water bottles shall be free of BPA, durable, safe, and functional at high level with timely after-services;Confirm the Organisation (and the items manufacturer, if different) is compliant with ISO 14001 or equivalent.Declare in which country the plastic bottles are produced.Suppliers shall be required, at the tender stage, to provide...
