This assignment concerns the shell restoration of the Carriage House of Horst Castle, a protected monument located within an archaeological zone. The attached shed is currently in a state of reduced stability. The works include including: carefully dismantling and rebuilding the existing masonry, creating a new foundation, carrying out wood repairs to the load-bearing wood structure, the complete renovation of the roof, including the installation of thermal insulation, supply and installation of new access doors. For the actual Wagenhuis, the works include: repair and local reconstruction of the masonry, treating and remediating the existing salt problems, local restoration of the existing wood structure, all necessary conservation and stabilizing interventions specific to a shell restoration, provision of new openings in the interior, restoration and/or supply and installation of new exterior joinery, removal of interior finishes in cement clay, fitted with a new hanging gutter.
