Scope of WorkThe terms of reference are for the engagement of a data collection firm to implement a predetermined survey to study the impact of the availability of affordable quality childcare services on women's labor force participation in rural areas of Honduras. This will involve the implementation of a quantitative questionnaire to a sample of around 750 women over 18 years in the departments of Lempira, Francisco Morazán, and El Paraíso.Schedule: Activities are expected to start in March 2025 and end in June 2025.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe selected data collection firm (hereafter "the firm") will assist the World Bank research team in the review of the questionnaire and will be responsible for administering the questionnaire in the selected rural areas. The firm's primary responsibilities shall include, but shall not be limited to the following:(a) Obtain the necessary permits: The firm will acquire all necessary permits to conduct the survey, including relevant permits from municipal and/or local authorities, as necessary.Comply with local formalities and obtain any required permits related to survey implementation, as well as health and accident insurance for survey equipment, salaries, taxes, and others, as necessary.(b) Sample selection: Work with the World Bank research team to select a representative random sample from selected locations; establish the sampling frame and its methodology for randomized implementation in the field. (c) Survey Instruments: Assist in the verification and validation of the quantitative instrument prepared by the World Bank team. The survey is expected to be implemented using the KoboToolBox digital data collection system. Previous experience in using this software will be highly valued.(d) Pilot the instruments: The firm will pilot the questionnaire in the field to improve the questions, including the language of the questions, and develop clear instructions to be provided to enumerators.
