Hiring of One (1) Product Specialist
Name of Project: Product Development for Local Interior/Architecture and Consumer Industrial
Product Sector
Period Covered: December 1 - May 31, 2017
Cost: Php 55, 000.00 x 6 months x 1 = Php 330, 000.00
Education:
Bachelor`s Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent. Master degree is an advantage
Training:
At least 3 Years Experience on Product Design, with National recognition in Product Design for Interior /
Architecture and Consumer Industrial Product Sector
Skills:
Excellent, creative & innovative design skills, extensive knowledge on material & product development, and
with good written & oral communication skills
Attitude/Behavior:
Self-driven, focused, dedicated to the job assigned, pro-active, results-oriented, solution seeker, with
respect to authority, impeccable integrity and a good business sense.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Scope of Work:
A. Product Development
1. Develop new product collections using new materials and processes for Product Design for Interior /
Architecture and Consumer Industrial Product Sector
2. Work with 10 exporters Product Design for Interior / Architecture and Consumer Industrial Product
Sector., and develop at least one collection of 5-6 pieces per material per company
3. Schedule materials exploration and application testing with the DCP Research Team as often as
necessary for the product development if needed
4. Provide a list of additional materials and other requests prior to the materials exploration and application
and product development
5. Conduct at least three face-to-face meetings / factor visits to each participating exporter as follows
- First Visit: initial consultation meeting to provide product design and development direction
- Second Visit: initial prototype inspection to review and evaluate product samples for revisions
- Third Visit: Final prototype inspection to review and evaluate product samples and prototype
B. Overall Creative Direction
1. Product Development Program - Product Development and Materials Application
- Develop an overall concept and design direction of products for the participating exporters
- Select and apply the appropriate new and innovative materials developed by the Research Team that
will complement the design of the product
- Provide the Research Team a creative approach and direction necessary for product development,
materials exploration and application if needed
2. Design Center`s participation at the April Manila FAME 2017 and other Local Exhibit
- Provide the overall thematic concept for the booth presentation and visual merchandising of participating
Interior / Architecture and Consumer Industrial Product Manufacturer
- Allocate booth assignments of all manufacturers who joined the project
- Assist Design Center and the Creative Director of CITEM, in the space planning of the exhibit by
conceptualizing and developing the layout, look, and theme of the Interior / Architecture and Consumer
Industrial Product Sector section of the October Manila FAME if needed
C. Visual Merchandising and Product Styling
1. Provide visual merchandizing direction and assistance to participating exporters in setting up the exhibit
booths during ingress
2. Provide Design Center with design direction / design concept and assistance in the setting up the Design
Center Materials Innovation Booth at the April Manila FAME if needed
3. Assist in product styling, make the display changes and alteration as necessary, and enhance aesthetic
appeal of the individual exporter booth to create a compelling presentation of merchandise that will stimulate
sales activity and materials appreciation
4. Conduct consultations with all participating manufacturers to select, evaluate and finalize the products to
be featured in their individuals booths
D. Project Coordination, Planning and Management
- Submission of evaluation next-step recommendation report for product development plan and materials
application
1. Work with the Product Development Program Secretariat, other concerned Design Center Divisions,
CITEM counterpart and participating exporters and participate in meetings and discussion in order to ensure
the highest standards of content and delivery of the tasks
2. Provide the Methodology and Time Table in line with the objectives of the project
3. Report writing and other requirements
- Submit a detailed monthly accomplishment report and created design concepts in support of payments
made by the Design Center
- Submit a comprehensive post-even terminal report detailing delivered undertakings, observations, and
Specialist Program and the Manila FAME Exhibit
- Submit assessment and next-step recommendation report for product development plan and materials
application
