Hiring of One (1) Product Specialist
Name of Project: DCP`s Participation to the October 2016 Manila Fame - Bakong
for Gifts and Housewares
Period Covered: July 01 to December 31, 2016
Cost: Php 80, 000.00 x 6 months x 1 = Php 480, 000.00
Education:
Bachelor`s Degree in Industrial Design. Master degree is an advantage
Training:
At least 15 years National and International Experience on Furniture Design with International
recognition in Furniture design
Skills:
Excellent, creative & innovative design skills, extensive knowledge on material & product devep-
ment, and with good written & oral communication skills
Attitude/Behavior:
Self-driven, focused, dedicated to job assigned/pro-active and results oriented, solutions seeker,
respect to authority, Impeccable integrity and a good business sense
Duties and Responsibilities:
Scope of work:
A. Product Development
1. Develop new product collections for PDP participants for Gifts, Home Furnishing & DA(c)cor sector
2. Work with 20-24 procedure from the Gifts, Home Furnishing and DA(c)cor sector, and develop at
least three collections of 5-6 pieces per company
3. Schedule materials exploration and application testing with the DCP Research Team as often
as necessary for the product development
4. Provide a list of additional materials and other requests prior to the materials exploration and
application and product development
5. Conduct at least three face-to-face meetings/factory visits to each participating exporter as
follows
- First Visit: Initial consultation meeting to provide product design and development direction
- Second Visit: Initial prototype inspection to review and evaluate product samples for revisions
- Third Visit: Final prototype inspection to review and evaluate product samples and prototype
B. Overall Creative Direction
1. Product Development Program - Product Development and Materials Application
- Develop an overall concept and design direction of products for the participating exporters
- Select and apply the appropriate new and innovative materials developed by the Research
Team that will complement the design of the product if needed
- Provide the Research Team a creative approach and direction necessary for product develop-
ment, materials exploration and application if needed
2. Design Center`s participation at the October Manila FAME 2016
- Provide the overall thematic concept for the booth presentation and visual merchandising of
participating furniture exporters
- Allocate booth assignments of all furniture exporters who joined the project if needed
- Assist Design Center and the Creative Director of CITEM, in the space planning of the exhibit
by conceptualizing and developing the layout, look, and theme of the furniture section of the
October Manila FAME if needed
C. Visual Merchandising and Product Styling
1. Provide visual merchandizing direction and assistance to participating exporters in setting up
the exhibit booths during ingress
2. Provide Design Center with design direction/design concept and assistance in the setting up
the Design Center Materials Innovation Booth at the October Manila FAME if needed
3. Assist in product styling, make the display changes and alteration as necessary, and enhance
aesthetic appeal of the individual exporter booths to create a compelling presentation of merch-
andise that will stimulate sales activity and materials appreciation
4. Conduct consultations with all particating exporters of furniture to select, evaluate and finalize
the products to be featured in their individual booths
D. Project Coordination, Planning and Management
1. Work with the Product Development Program secretariat, other concerned Design Center
Divisions, CITEM counterpart and participating exporters and participate in meetings and
discussion in order to ensure the highest standard of content and delivery of the tasks
2. Provide the Methodology and Time Table in line with the objectives of the project
3. Report writing and other rerquirements
- Submit a detailed monthly accomplishment report and created design concepts in support of
payments made by the Design Center
- Submit a comprehensive post-event terminal report detailing delivered undertakings, obser-
vations, and assessment of the Product Development Program and the Manila FAME Exhibit
- Submit assessment and next-step recommendation report for product development plan and
materials application
