Solicitation Description : Conduct HIPAA Privacy and Security Program Assessment to assess, document, and prioritize compliance gaps with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security Rules and the HITECH Act Breach Notification Rule. Vendor to provide in-depth privacy and security subject matter expertise and a consistent methodology for assessing compliance and conformity with the standards and implementation specifications of Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules. Special focus should be given to organizational requirements of Texas State University as a hybrid entity and requirements of its designated Health Care Components (HCC) to assist with identification of external Business Associates, execution and management of Business Associate Agreements, and identification of Texas State University Departments that provide business associate-like services and require execution of a comparable agreement. This includes a complete review and assessment of pertinent policies and procedures, trainings, interviews with key stakeholders, and facility walkthrough reviews. This assessment must provide clear direction and a written report on the steps needed to bring the Texas State University into compliance with the HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules.
