Description
The purpose of this sources sought notice is to conduct market research and identify potential sources of commercial products/services that satisfy the Government-s anticipated needs.
BACKGROUND
The semiconductor supply chain is global, specialized, and interconnected. Chipmakers do business with thousands of individual suppliers that provide the highly complex materials and tools used to produce semiconductors. To address the lack of full visibility into the semiconductors markets supply chain and R&D ecosystem gaps NIST will conduct the measurement science, or metrology, critical to the development of new materials, packaging, and production methods in chip manufacturing.
The goal of this project is to develop methods to measure the types of high-power radio-frequency signals used in industrial semiconductor processing. The amplifier described in this statement of work will generate the high-power signals that we will measure
NIST is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a solution that will achieve the objectives described above, in addition to the following essential requirements:
Amplifier Minimum Specifications
The amplifier can produce signals from 10 kHz to 220 MHz. Wider frequency ranges are better. The maximum power output is approximately 5 kW (and at least 3 kW) from 10 kHz to 220 MHz. Higher power is better. The amplifier output can be terminated by an arbitrary impedance (including a short, open or load) for an arbitrarily long time (potentially days) without damaging the amplifier. The amplifier may reduce its output power by half to prevent damage. The amplifier shall be a linear amplifier. That means it will reproduce an arbitrary waveform faithfully with a larger amplitude, as long as that signal is within the amplifier-s operating bandwidth and power range. For example, the amplifier can amplify CW, pulsed, and modulated signals. The contractor should provide...
