The sports services of the city of Vaasa are requesting an offer for summertime beach supervision for Hietasaari's beach for the period 2026-2027. The goal is to ensure a safe swimming experience for the users of Hietasaari's beach there must be at least two supervisors. Due to breaks, there may be one supervisor on supervisory duties at times. Every beach lifeguard must have beach lifeguard or swimming lifeguard training or similar training under SUH or international beach lifeguard training completed at the beginning of the contract period. Requirements set for coastal surveillance: 1. The supervision time is in weeks 24-32 every day of the week from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 2. Beach supervisors must be of legal age and speak Finnish. Knowledge of the Swedish language is considered an advantage. 3. When taking meal breaks and in individual short-term deployment situations, it is possible to use a person who does not have SUH or international lifeguard or swimming lifeguard training as a beach supervisor, but who has e.g. a firefighter or first aid training and who has water rescue skills and is able to rescue the client from even the most challenging places. The suitability of the training must be checked in advance with the sports services. 4. The task of the beach supervisor is to make sure that the beach has safe conditions for everyone to swim and, if necessary, to intervene in disruptive or dangerous behavior on the beach.
