According to government decision N2007/3647IR, the Swedish Transport Administration is tasked with taking the necessary measures to ensure a connection to and from Holmön in Umeå Municipality. The island is operated by state road ferry, but in difficult winter conditions, when the ice settles or breaks up, the Swedish Transport Administration provides a helicopter solution. With this procurement, the Swedish Transport Administration intends to procure helicopter traffic between Umeå and Holmö.
