Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Marine and Aviation Operations/Marine Operations Center The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Henry Bigelow requires hydrographic cable blocks; large-diameter, lightweight, low-friction pulleys used on ocean research vessels for overboarding electromechanical cable as part of the deployment and retrieval process. The blocks must be designed for saltwater marine conditions and follow data cable manufacturers specifications for minimum bend radius of the given cable diameter. The block should be lightweight and made from hardcoat-anodized aluminum sideplate materials with an open-center design to be able to properly align the load and optimize cable tracking. Blocks must comply with UNOLS Research Vessel Safety Standards.
