The City of Papillion is requesting proposals from qualified consulting firms to design and provide design services for an all inclusive playground.The playground/park is at Halleck Park Large Pavilion, 712 E. Halleck Street in Papillion, NE. The proposed playground is to be an inclusive playground that incorporates equipment for children ages 3- 15 years old. A map of the site along with pictures are included in Appendix B.The overall work is to include development of bid documents for the design of the inclusive playground. The scope of the design work includes but not limited to the site grading, foundations, equipment, landscape, seating, and surfacing. Demolition, grading, drainage, site work, site furnishings, site concrete, USACE and other required permitting, and surfacing that is ADA-compliant and meets impact attenuation criteria, etc. This project seeks to meet the goals and guidelines set forth in the Playground Design Guidelines in Appendix A.The playground will be located along an ADA-accessible route that will connect to the playground to seven (7) new handicapped parking stalls. Removal of the old play structure, horseshoe pits, infected Ash Trees, and concrete, as well as the relocation of the current, newer swing set into the new design.This will be the first of its kind in the citys playground system, so a great design utilizing imagination and innovation is desired. Handicapped accessible concrete paths, benches, trash receptacles, picnic tables can all be included in the design. The handicapped parking will be a nose-in parking area along the current driveway at the site. The new parking stalls will be separated by an approximately 40 foot area that will be utilized as the \"drop off zone\" for visitors and act as the entrance to the play area. Currently, a large tree and a OPPD cobra head lighting structure is located in this area, and will remain in place.
