Wigan Council has been successful with a Round 2 National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) grant application for the restoration of Haigh Woodland Park. The Council is seeking to commission an appropriate contractor to undertake a works package as part of the restoration project, namely the creation of a ‘Woodland Hub- to provide a focus for visitor experience and outdoor adventure activities in the historic Plantation Woodlands, alongside repairs to the existing footpath network. This will include the creation of a new seasonal Woodland Hub kiosk, toilets and outdoor adventure play area.
The programme of works targets the delivery of the specified works between October 2025 and May 2026.
