Description : I. BRIEF BACKGROUND:
In recent years, the Department of Tourism - National Capital Region (DOT-NCR) has supported
the implementation of the Regional Tour Guiding Seminar led by the Office of Human Capital
Development. The program has generated strong interest among aspiring and practicing tour guides,
indicating a continuing demand for structured training and professional development opportunities in
the field.
In line with this, for 2026, DOT-NCR prioritizes the implementation of training programs that
aim to equip tourism stakeholders with deeper knowledge and enhanced competencies in their
respective areas of expertise. One of these initiatives is the Regional Tour Guiding Seminar, a
comprehensive thirty (30)-day training program designed to provide participants with an in-depth
understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and professional standards expected of tour guides. The
seminar also emphasizes the importance of historical awareness and cultural appreciation as
fundamental elements of effective tour guiding.
