SMHI conducts a procurement of green electricity to all of SMHI's measuring stations, as well as to the authority's offices in Uppsala and Gothenburg.
SMHI currently has an agreement for the measuring stations (see attached list in Excel) with Bodens Energi.
This procurement intends to assure SMHI that the electricity supplies to all of our approximately 275 measuring stations, as well as to SMHI's offices in Uppsala and Gothenburg, consists of an environmentally friendly alternative, hereinafter referred to as "Green electricity".
SMHI's definition of Green electricity is:
"Electricity produced from renewable, non-fossil energy sources, namely wind energy, solar energy, aerothermal energy (air heating), geothermal energy, hydrothermal energy (water heating) and ocean energy, hydropower, biomass, landfill gas, gas from sewage treatment plants and biogas".
Biomass is defined as "the biodegradable fraction of products, wastes and residues from agriculture (both vegetable and animal substances), forestry and related industries including fishing and aquaculture as well as the biodegradable fraction of industrial waste and municipal waste".
SMHI intends to procure the supply of electricity produced from renewable energy sources to specified withdrawal points and intends to enter into framework agreements with a (1) supplier who can meet the requested need in accordance with this procurement document. Delivery points are specified in the requirements specification, as well as in the attached list.
