The Government of Jersey-IHE (The Authority) requires a Contractor to treat and recycle Waste Mixed/Small Electrical and Electronic Appliances generated in Jersey (CI) You are invited to submit a response for this Request for Quotation (RFQ). The Authority receives waste mixed / small EE appliances (the Waste) from the public and businesses at the local household and commercial recycling centre at La Collette, St Helier, Jersey (the “Site”). Waste mixed / small electrical and electronic appliances (the Waste) are classed as a hazardous waste. Hazardous wastes are subject to the Waste Management (Jersey) Law 2005. However, as the Services are to be carried out outside of Jersey (which is not in the EU), the Contractor will also need to comply with the requirements of the Transfrontier Shipment Regulations (TFS Permit) regarding the recycling and disposal of waste mixed / small EE appliances. Note: Contractors will also have to adhere to the requirements of any other relevant local legislation for example - in the UK, the WEEE Regulations 2006; The volume of waste mixed / small EE appliances requiring disposal is estimated at 600t per annum (made up of approx. 2-3 deliveries a month of an average of 20 tonnes each). ?
