Project Code Tender_10438 Project Title Gis Including Gps, Measuring and Mapping of Tobacco Crops Opportunity Details Detailed Description Geographic Information System (Gis) Services Including Global Position (Gps) Measuring and Mapping of Tobacco Crops in Ontario Scope of Work to Properly Monitor Raw Leaf Tobacco Grown in Ontario, Producers Are Required to Register with the Ministry of Finance (Ministry, Mof). Part of the Registration Process Requires Producers to Estimate Their Yield Per Acre and Provide Evidence of Contract(S) with Licensed Buyers. Based on This Information, Mof Determines the Number of Acres an Applicant is Permitted to Grow which is Reflected on Their Permit. Subsequently, the Producer is Required to Provide a Sketch of Lands where They have Planted Tobacco. in Order to Validate the Acreage Planted, the Ministry Needs to Secure Geographical Information System (Gis) Services, Including Global Positioning System (Gps) Services, to Verify that the Amount the Producer is Permitted to Plant is Consistent with What is Actually Planted. It is Estimated Tobacco Crops Planted will Consist of Approximately 230 Producers Totalling 22, 000 Acres Yearly in Southwestern Ontario (Predominantly in the Counties of Norfolk, Elgin, Brant, Oxford, Middlesex and Kent).
