Detailed_Description : This Request for Information (“RFI”), is issued by His Majesty the King in right of Ontario as represented by the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement (the “Ministry”), for the purposes of gathering information from vendors, developers, and service providers in the geographic information system (“GIS”) marketplace, including those offering commercial off-the-shelf (“COTS”) solutions and free and open source software for geospatial (“FOSS4G”). This information will assist the Ministry in evaluating future procurement options and strategies for GIS software, maintenance, and related services.
Scope of Work : Respondents are asked to provide a detailed submission for the purposes of informing future procurement and architectural decisions by the Ontario government explaining: •the current GIS software and service offerings in the marketplace•the capabilities and maturity of open source GIS solutions•support and maintenance models for both COTS and FOSS4G•integration opportunities with existing government systems•deployment models, licensing, and cost structuresRespondents- submissions should identify specific software components, standalone software, software maintenance, support, and/or related services (collectively referred to as “GIS Solutions”) that satisfy some or all of the requirements listed in the RFI, and identify and explain how different GIS Solutions could be utilized together to achieve all of the requirements.
