The united states geological survey (usgs) intends to award a non-competitive purchase order in accordance with far subpart 13.5 simplified procedures to geometrics, inc for (1)geoeel 2d aid module for solid streamers, pn: 57550-20;(2)geoeel 2d aid module for solid streamers, pn: 57550-20sp; and (2)geoeel active section, solid, 50m, pn: 61236-0s0spib for the woods hole coastal and marine science center (whcmsc), woods hole, massachusetts. The government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with federal acquisition regulation (far) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) and the procedures at far part 12 entitled, acquisition of commercial items, to geometrics, inc. There are no option periods.





The usgs - woods hole coastal and marine science center (whcmsc) has the need to augment our usgs owned multi-channel seismic (mcs) hydrophone streamer system. This augmentation involves the purchase of three analog to digital (aid) modules, which will be placed at the front of active hydrophone sections. These aid modules convert analog signals from the hydrophone array into a 24-bit digital format, and then transmit those data via ethernet to a topside acquisition device.





The augmentation to the mcs system also involves replacing two so-meter active sections that were damaged beyond repair during the 2018 field season. These sections are necessary to bring the mcs system back to its full, pre-2018 capability. Without these sections, whcmsc would not be able to collect data to the same standard of quality achieved in previous mcs projects.





No other manufacturer, other than geometrics, makes equipment compatible with the governmenta?s existing usgs owned geometrics multi channel seismic system. See attached brand name justification.





The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of far 13.501(a). All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal...
