Request for proposals are invited for Gender Expert

The gender analysis is conducted with the aim of improving female participation in decision making and adaptation for the impacts of climate change. Results and recommendations will be used to identify the potential role of women in LRI activities in general and the ways to overcome challenges to their effective participation (environmental committees, seasonal and permanent jobs, awareness and capacity building events, community champions, etc.).
The gender expert will be responsible of developing the gender analysis methodology as well as customizing the analysis by target community and by type of stakeholders (men, women, universities, NGOs, government authorities, etc.). The expert will be testing and adjusting the questions in addition to training the data collectors on the developed data collection tools. Results will be combined with the support of LRI gender focal point into a narrative report and summarized using the gender analysis matrix (Attached).
The gender expert will need to undertake the below tasks in coordination with LRI gender focal points:
‐ Conduct the literature review to compile secondary data about the gender analyses conducted for the
various sectors in Lebanon, focusing on cross‐cutting sectors (livelihoods, entrepreneurship, leadership,
legal status, refugees- status, etc…) and the sectors related to LRI-s scope of work (agriculture, climate
change, water, forestry, etc…)
‐ Conducting primary data collection about gender roles, needs and opportunities in the sectors still having
gapsin knowledge (forest fire fighting, rangeland management, ecotourism, biodiversity, agroforestry, and
green cities, etc…)
o Develop the methodology for the gender analysis (sector specific, questions addressing the six
domains of gender analysis, etc…);
o Develop the data collection tools with the support of LRI-s MEL team;
o Train the data collectors to conduct the gender analysis with target stakeholders;
o Conduct the data collection with target stakeholders
‐ Develop the gender analysis report including findings and recommendations.
‐ Support in dissemination to main stakeholders through webinar
