Tender Details

The united states department of agriculture (usda), grain inspection, packers and stockyards administration (gipsa), technology and science division (tsd) uses the jacobson hammer mill for preparation of soybeans and cereal grain for high throughput analyses in support of pesticide residue and mycotoxin programs. The existing mill is greater than 15 years old and in need of replacement. Gipsa would like to replace the mill with current model, carter p160 series 1 hammermill, manufactured by carter day or equal brand.
The minimum requirement for the mill is as follows to ensure equivalency to the existing mill:

1. Full circle hammer mill

2. Teardrop-shaped true 360 degree reversible screen for maximum grinding capacity and fast screen changes

3. Supplied with screen with 1mm diameter holes

4. Internal air circulation can operate without fan or collector

5. Force feed screw hopper available for feeding light, bulky materials

6. Gravity discharge to bin

7. Planned motor base for exact alignment of motor and rotor with minimal vibration

8. Belt or direct drive

9. Optional mill stand available for purchase if needed
this is not a request for quote, but instead to determine interested small business with products equivalent to the carter p160 series 1 hammermill. A determination by the government on the method of competing this requirement has not been established. The government will not award a contract based on this sources sought notice or the information received, nor will it reimburse participants for the information they provide. The brand name, model number, and specifications of each equivalent equipment they can offer.

A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
