The Request for Quote (RFQ) number is N66604-26-Q-0412. The Government has been using the Frangibolts since 2024 in its infrastructure since it inherited the DARPA Hunter hardware to support the Government. There are no other Frangibolt fasteners in the open market that have the exact fit, form, and function as this product. Using a different model would require designing, the Government would have to find and/or design replacements for the functions of each Frangibolt actuator. This transition would result in labor hours spent redesigning and integrating new components, as well as implementing new operating procedures and electronic control structures to perform with the Government-s current infrastructure. This would result in significant duplication of cost and schedule delays. Therefore, this acquisition can only be obtained through Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense. Documents
This requirement is being solicited on an unrestricted basis as concurred with by the NUWCDIVNPT Office of Small Business Programs. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332510. The Small Business Size Standard is 750 employees.
This solicitation is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Quotes received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
