Framework agreement regarding the supply and maintenance of electro-optical systems The Ministry of Defence's Material and Procurement Agency (FMI) offers a framework agreement for the supply and maintenance of electro-optical systems for use in the Coast Guard's and The Marine Home Guard's boats, which must primarily be used to locate people in the water in connection with rescue operations, but must also be able to be used for e.g. navigation in reduced visibility and ship inspections. Electro-optical (EO) systems are digital camera systems, most of which consist of an ordinary daylight camera, as well as a secondary heat-sensitive camera (thermal camera) which measures thermal radiation and can therefore be used without light to identify objects. FMI's purchase of the electro-optical systems includes a lightweight system, a medium distance system and a long distance system. The tendered framework agreement involves the procurement and installation of the electro-optical systems in the Defense vessels, but also maintenance of the systems and training in their use of the Armed Forces personnel in the use and maintenance of the systems.
