VMM wishes to place several orders in the context of further expanding and improving the existing groundwater simulator. The groundwater simulator is a publicly available online tool that allows users to measure the effects of be able to have certain interventions in the phreatic aquifer calculated. The groundwater simulator can be used anywhere in Flanders. Using the groundwater simulator requires very limited knowledge of groundwater or the subsurface, but does not require any knowledge of groundwater modelling. You can consult the groundwater simulator via https://www.dov.vlaanderen.be/page/grondwatersimulator The assignments consist of one or more tasks as listed below: - maintaining the regional groundwater flow models of the phreatic aquifer (e.g. with new version of the H3D model, update of surface water based on canal map, etc.). - support/supervision in the development of the regional models (phreatic and/or tense) in function of smooth implementation in the groundwater simulator - inserting the updated models into the groundwater simulator - conceptualizing and testing new functionalities: * effect of climate change * impoundment of canals * flow path calculation * benefits and disadvantages of a coupled mother-child model calculation strategy (and parallelization) * adding local own K-value or geology * uncertainty analysis * ... - implementing this new fu...
