The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Tulsa has been tasked to solicit to supply and install specified replacement parts for four existing static type excitation systems and associated components and wiring, for the four main hydrogenator units at Fort Gibson Powerhouse for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) within the Southwestern Division (SWD). The replacement parts are still “To Be Determined” at this time but are anticipated to consist of front-end controls upgrade and AC field breaker replacement.
There are four hydrogenator units at Fort Gibson. The generators were manufactured and installed by Allis-Chalmers in 1954. They are rated at 12, 500 kVA, 0.90 PF, 13, 800V, and 100 RPM, with a 115% continuous overload capacity (14, 375 kVA). The exciters were manufactured by ABB and installed in 2005. The ratings for all exciters are as follows: the maximum continuous current rating is 815 Adc, the positive ceiling voltage is 226.5 Vdc, and the ceiling current rating is 1110 Adc for 60 seconds. The power potential transformer (PPT) for all four units were also furnished by ABB, and are rated at 315 kVA, with a ratio of 13, 800/275. Below are photographs of the existing nameplates for the generators, exciters and PPTs.
In accordance with FAR 36.204, the estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $500, 000 and $1, 000, 000.
