PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE

This pre-solicitation notice is issued for informational purposes only to inform industry of an upcoming project requirement that will be solicited. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP). At this time, no solicitation exists; therefore, please do NOT request a copy of the solicitation, bid documents, specifications, or drawings. Responses or proposals are not required at this stage.



The USDA Forest Service Procurement and Property Services, Field Procurement Operations, Southwest Zone, Contract Service Area 6, on behalf of Region 5, is currently preparing a solicitation RFP for a contractor to provide all necessary materials, supplies, equipment, and personnel to remove and replace the Chambers Creek Trail Bridge; including tasks such as clearing, grubbing, approach construction, removal and disposal of the existing bridge, concrete abutment retrofit construction, prefabricated bridge design, fabrication, delivery, and placement with timber decking. The Chambers Creek Trail Bridge, constructed in 1967, is a steel truss bridge with a wood deck, curb, and railing, which suffered damage in recent wildfires, rendering it unusable. All work must be performed in strict compliance with the terms, specifications, drawings, and provisions outlined in the solicitation/contract.



Project LocationThe Chambers Creek Bridge is located on the Mount Hough Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest in Plumas County, California. The bridge is located approximately 1.5 miles from the Chambers Creek Trail Head off SR 70. GPS location is: 39° 57.935-, -121° 18.520-. Approximate elevations are Trail Head - 2, 030-, Bridge, West end - 3690-



The contract duration is anticipated to be 365 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). Work is anticipated to start August 2025.
