Forest Fire Locking by Helicopter - Invitation to Digital Supplier Conference

DSB wants to make helicopter preparedness available in support of the fire department at forest fires and other fires in scrub and heather, as well as other fires and events such as extreme weather throughout Norway. Emergency helicopters (one or more) shall be used mainly for extinguishing fires when efforts with large amounts of water are required or the fire is difficult to access to the fire and rescue system. The forest fire helicopter service should primarily ensure efficient and rapid efforts in areas where there is the greatest potential for large or critical fires. In addition, a helicopter can be used as a transport unit for materials and crews to be used for ground inserts, as an observation platform for the fire chief or his deputy deputy, communications center for extinguishing operations and by extinguishing major fires and other extensive or particularly complicated incidents.
