Tender Details

1.0 description of items. The contractor shall provide all material, and labor to install automatic sprinkler fire suppression systems for one (1) 4, 500 sq ft k-span assembly facilitiy, eight (8) 968 sq ft lodging facilities, and six (6) 660 sq ft lodging facilities at the vigiliant warrior camp in titus, alabama. The contractor shall provide an automatic sprinkler fire suppression system for each facility, for a total of fifteen (15) systems.
1.1 clin0001: the contractor shall provide and install one (1) automatic sprinkler fire suppression system in a 4, 500 sq ft assembly facility. . at a minimum the automatic fire suppression system must meet the requirements specified in sor paragraphs 1.1.1 - 1.1.11.
1.1.1 wet pipe fire automatic sprinkler systems suppression system

1.1.2 starting at a 4 inch ductile iron stub up water supply inside facility

1.1.3 properly engineered and installed automatic sprinkler systems will be designed to detect the presence of fire and distribute water in sufficient quantity to either control or extinguish the fire.

1.1.4 sprinkler systems must use equipment and devices listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory (nrtl)

1.1.5 the sprinkler system must be designed to meet the area/density method of national fire protection association standard 13 (nfpa 13)

1.1.6 the government will not accept galvanized piping.

1.1.7 new sprinkler systems protecting areas of 1, 500 ft2 (139 m2) and greater must be designed using hydraulic calculations. Use of pipe schedule designs is strongly discouraged for any sprinkler system. Required discharge densities and areas of discharge operation are given in paragraph sprinkler density and hose stream requirements. Calculations must follow the format of nfpa 13. Pipe friction losses and equivalent lengths of pipe for fittings and valves must be in accordance with nfpa 13.

1.1.8 sprinklers must provide coverage throughout 100 percent of the building except as permitted by nfpa 13.

1.1.9 plain end fittings with mechanical couplings and fittings that use steel gripping devices to bit into the pipe are prohibited.

1.1.10 steel piping with wall thickness less than schedule 40 shall not be threaded.

1.1.11 piping must hang on tabs shown (see appendix a)

1.2. Clin0002: the contractor shall provide and install one (1) automatic sprinkler fire suppression system for eight (8) 968sq ft facilities and six (6) 660sq ft facilities. At a minimum each automatic fire suppression system must meet the requirements specified in sor paragraphs 1.2.1 - 1.2.9.

2.0 installation requirements: the contractor shall install fire suppression system on location at the vigiliant warrior camp located in titus, alabama.
2.1 the contractor shall provide and install all wiring, connectors and hardware, as required to complete the work. All wiring must be installed in a neat and professional manner.
2.2 the contractor shall provide customer with all books, manuals, literature, cds and dvds and other documentation on all equipment installed. Provide customer with all programming source code, to include but not limited to uncompiled source code, panel files, ir/232/ip modules, and any other digital or software requirement for full utilization, operation, and maintenance of system.
2.3 the contractor must provide all building modifications required to complete this project (electricity, conduit, and plumbing). Must work with base agencies where approval is required and provide documentation of applicable changes. Contractor will coordinate all building modifications with the contracting officer to eliminate or minimize disruptions.
2.4 the contractor is responsible for post construction cleanup, which will include removal of all material, packaging, and all other debris left as a result of construction. General clean-up of material, packaging, and work areas will be conducted during job progress (at the end of each day as a minimum) to minimize unacceptable appearance of job site to to visitor populations. Contractor will be responsible for any damages to facility caused by contractor and personnel. Installation should take no longer than two months.
2.5 the contractor shall be responsible for any and all high voltage and low voltage electrical work, and plumbing required to complete installation. The contractor will be responsible for any and all interior or exterior construction required.
3.0 performance management plan (pmp): the contractor shall provide a pmp that shows a timeline from issuance of the contract to delivery of the fire suppression systems to the delivery location identifed in this solicitation. The pmp may be expressed in terms of "days after contract". This pmp shall include, at a minimum, a timeline for:

4.0. Warranty: the contractor must provide manufacturers warranties for the products supplied by the contractors. A ninety one-year quality of installation warranty to insures that the installation is satisfactory and if any errors were made or any problems occur, the customer will have one-year to identify the issues. The contractor is responsible for fixing or replacing any issues with system within a one-year period from installation completion at no additional cost to the government.
5.0 general information: system must be complete and usable upon completion. Items must be brand new. Refurbished items are not authorized. All material submitted for consideration shall meet the requirements of the unified facilities criteria (ufc) 3-600-01. Complete automatic sprinkler protection must be provided in accordance with nfpa 13 sprinkler systems. Design shall meet or exceed all codes, regulations, and guidelines set forth by nfpa 13, nfpa 72, and nfpa 101, along with any state and local regulations.
