Object of the contract
The Contracting Authority (London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham) is seeking an expression of interest from suitable contractors who would like to be considered for an invitation to tender for a 5 year public contract with the option to extend at the Council''s sole discretion for a maximum period of up to 3 years to carry out preventative maintenance and testing of existing fire alarms and emergency lighting installations within its Housing properties in accordance with the requirements of BS 5831-2002 and BS 5266-1-1999 for fire alarm and emergency lighting systems respectively. In addition the contract will include a requirement for carrying out reactive breakdown repairs to existing fire alarm systems within housing properties. It is anticipated that the Commencement Date of the Contract is 12.8.2015The existing fire alarm systems of which there are approximately 40 No installed are predominantly of Honeywell Gent Building Solutions Manufacture from their Vigilon addressable range. Accordingly it shall be a requirement for the successful contractor to achieve full accreditation from Honeywell Gent Building Solutions as their fire alarm system integrator. Emergency lighting installation consisting of approximately 8 000 No self contain luminaries has been installed to within approximately 200 multi-story blocks of flats of varying heights.All remedial works required to existing emergency lighting systems shall be carried out by the Contracting Authority''s Term Partnering Contractor.The Contract will be let under the JCT Measured Term Contract (2006) Revision 2 (2009) or the GC/Works/9 (1999). Confirmation of the form of contract will be included within the tender documents. The award of contract(s) will be made on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.Tenderers'' should note that the Contracting Authority reserves the right to make no award of contact if applications and tenders received are not considered as meeting the objects of this procurement exercise.
