FINANCIAL SPECIALIST
The U.S. Department of the Treasury-s Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) supports the development of strong financial sectors and sound public financial management in countries where assistance is needed and there is a strong commitment to reform. OTA provides technical assistance in over 50 countries in five functional areas: economic crimes, government debt and infrastructure finance, budget and financial accountability, banking and financial services, and revenue policy and administration.
OTA is seeking a Financial Specialist to perform accounting functions and other financial related analyses in support of OTA projects. The person selected will be hired under a personal services contract. This position is located at OTA headquarters in Washington, DC.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs accounting functions, financial related analyses, and portfolio management to ensure accuracy and timeliness of official accounting records, reports, and cost information for OTA projects. This includes reviews of PSC budgets, taskings, and vouchers. Generates office reports for payroll and fund obligation, performs research related to financial and accounting aspects of program activities, reconciles 401(k) participant contributions with retirement savings plan accounts, and processes PRISM requisitions. Prepares PSC option year and contract closeout reconciliations. May assist in preparing biweekly payroll invoice interface and serve as backup to the Accountant.
QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in accounting or financial-related roles.
