We celebrate the New Year in Utrecht from 2024 differently. We opt for the environment, the animals, the vulnerable neighbor and for fewer accidents. Together we make new traditions for a year without fireworks. From 2024, Utrecht therefore no longer opts for fireworks, but for the environment, theAnimals, the vulnerable neighbor and fewer accidents. And of course we opt for being together. As part of this new tradition, the Jaarbeursplein, on December 31, 2024, we organized a free -accessible central moment with a program for children, young people and adults.National politics has taken up our signal about fireworks and is working on a national protection ban for consumer fireworks from 2026.
