BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The Saimaa lautasella project is a joint project of four implementers (Savonlinnan Hankekehyts Oy, ProAgria Etela-Savo ry, Samiedu Vocational School and Savonlinnan Seudun Matkailu Oy) which supports the diversification of the Savonlinna region's attractiveness and business life by strengthening local availability of raw materials, increasing awareness of local food products and developing food, village and farm tourism. The project is part-financed by the European Union through the Southern Savo County Association. Two different food tourism events have been piloted in the Savonlinna region: - A celebration of local flavors September 4, 2024 one-day market event in one place - Saimaa Harvest Festival September 12 14, 2025 multi-site, multi-day, multi-operator harvest and local food event Both events presented local food culture and producers on different scales: one focused on a single one place, the other spread over several locations in the area. The object of this procurement is an expert service, which will be used to prepare a feasibility report on the continuation and consolidation of the event concepts developed in the pilots for the coming years in the Savonlinna area. The survey produces information and concrete proposals on how the development and permanent implementation of events can be organized, and supports the construction of long-term operating models in the post-project period.
