Description: Purpose of the APWThe purpose of this APW is to undertake a feasibility and costing study for the introduction of a new dialysis service in Kiribati. This assessment will need to consider options of haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, acute and chronic renal patients and issues related to human resources, power, water requirements and waste disposal. This assessment will inform planning on the planned introduction of dialysis in Kiribati BackgroundCurrently patients needing dialysis are referred overseas from Kiribati to neighbouring countries. These include those needing dialysis for acute renal failure and chronic failure.
