The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) has commenced the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage for Fast Frequency Response (FFR) Services when the grid is interconnected to the rest of the western interconnection. The RFP stage of the competition to procure FFR Services when interconnected opened March 26, 2024. The competition will be managed through a procurement site called Bonfire (Bonfire Site). To obtain access to the Bonfire Site, view the RFP documents, and participate in the RFP process, one representative from each interested party will need to register and execute a Bonfire Site Access and Participant Agreement. All matters relating to the RFP, including communication with the AESO and providing a proposal, are governed by the terms of the RFP provisions. Interested parties CANNOT participate in the FFR procurement competition through Alberta Purchasing Connection (APC).
