Eye examinations and computer glasses. The purpose is to prevent vision and health problems as a result of working at a computer screen, cf. Regulation on organisation, management and participation §14-4. Employees who have a special need for glasses in connection with regular work at a computer screen, must have an eye examination and computer glasses covered by the employer. The need for glasses will be affected by the employee's age, refractive error in the eye, workload and working time in front of the screen. For people under approx. It will usually be 40 years an eye test is sufficient, they will usually not need special work glasses, as the eyes' focusing ability compensates for the different viewing distances. This usually means that the same glasses can be used both for seeing at a distance and at close up, and will be the employee's usual glasses.
