The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) Commercial Operations Branch is seeking to purchase 1000-1250 chairs to facilitate the simultaneous hosting of multiple events and set ups in APH. This chair or chair family will be used both inside and outside the building, including for use on the Forecourt for ceremonial use. They will need to be suitable for visitor chair use across APH and in the Parliamentary Library-s conference rooms as replacements are required. The loose furniture and furnishings used in Parliament House are an integral part of the architectural spaces. These chairs will be used across a broad range of events in key spaces across the building, both outdoors and indoors, including internal meetings, official ceremonies, parliamentary functions, and externally hosted events. As such, the chairs must be of high commercial quality, durable, lightweight, stackable, meet the design requirements of Parliament House, and be safe for frequent manual handling by staff with varying levels of experience. The chairs will need to be available in different fabric colours and frame finishes to support their dual use as function and visitor chairs across the building. Chairs must meet, at a minimum relevant Australian Standards.
