The objective of the contract is to design and implement a communication and visibility strategy of the European Union in the Dominican Republic. Since the establishment of its relations more than three decades ago, the Dominican Republic is a privileged partner of the EU, based on shared values, a common history and culture and multiple interpersonal ties. A key aspect of these relations is political dialogue, which in recent years has been expanding and deepening, covering important geopolitical challenges and global challenges such as climate change and digitization. In the commercial sphere, import and export flows between the EU and the Dominican Republic have tripled in the last 15 years, thanks to the signing of the EU-Cariforum Economic Partnership Agreement. The intensification of bilateral relations has gone hand in hand with a broad cooperation agenda. The “Global Gateway” is the central axis of EU cooperation, through which it seeks to promote investments in sustainable infrastructure such as urban transport (the EU contributes to the expansion of lines 1 and 2 of the metro of Santo Domingo), sustainable urban development (for example, the EU contribution to the remodeling of the Colonial Center of Santo Domingo), digitization, the fight against Sargasso and water and sanitation.
