Establishment and Terrain Command - Dolphin Apron Aalborg In recent years, Aalborg Airport has had challenges on their Dolphin Apron with detachment of steel fiber from the surface of the existing concrete slabs. The steel fibers create a risk of FOD, and i at worst, the steel fibers can be sucked into a jet engine and damage it. Existing concrete surfaces are therefore taken up and replaced by new concrete surfaces. The new concrete pavements are made with concrete without steel fibers or other types of fibers and thereby solve it the risk of FOD with the steel fibers. In addition, the Norwegian Defense Forces also want to change the cross-falls on the Dolphin Apron, which on a daily basis create challenges when loading and unloading aircraft.
