Description
The US Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), in support of US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armament Center (CCDC AC), Weapons and Software Engineering Center (WSEC) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a sole source effort to Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Inc., Lockbox 771742, 1742 Solutions Center, Chicago, IL 60677, in accordance with “41 United States Code 1901 as implemented in FAR 13.106(b)(1), for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), only one source reasonably available, urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name, or industrial mobilization. The anticipated period of performance is 12 months, Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract for Esprit Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) Maintenance and Software Upgrades. This is a brand name requirement for software developed by Hexagon Manufacturing. The Justification and Approval (redacted version is attached) states that Hexagon Manufacturing is the sole creator, developer and distributor of Espirit CAM software, thus no competition exists that provides such software.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and is meant to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201, which requires a notice of intent to be posted at the time a solicitation is issued. The solicitation is expected to be issued in late June 2023 to Hexagon Manufacturing. Questions may be directed via email to qendresa.neza.civ@army.mil.
