Tenders are invited for Esa Technology Broker Spain
ESA has operated a network of Technology Brokers across its Member States since the early 1990s. The primary objective to date has been to facilitate the transfer of space technology into non-space applications. At CM22, the ESA Technology Brokers formally becamepart of the ScaleUp programme within Element 1, Component 4 - Technology Transfer 2.0. Their scope was also expanded to also include spin-in to space activities and to find terrestrial companies who have innovative technologies that could benefit ESA and the space industry.The Network of ESA Technology Brokers is currently active in 10 Participating States.Additional activities from ScaleUpElement 1 and Element 2 may be included with the ESA Technology Broker at the request of a Participating State so that it is bettertailored to the commercial environment of that Participating State. These are listed below: Element 1 Component 3 - IP for Commercialisation. Providing support to Economic Operators in developing a strategy to protect and commercialise intellectual property arising from space activities. Element 1 Component 4 - Technology Transfer 2.0. In addition to the ESA Technology Broker, ESA Spark Funding may be implemented locally and provided to Economic Operators to accelerate their product development and refine the commercial offering. The scope and value of ESA Spark Funding is agreed with a Participating State in accordance with the ScaleUp Implementing Rules. Element 1 Component 5 - Prepare for Space. Providing support to Economic Operators who are looking to enter the space industry. Activities may include developing a proposition for where a company fits in the space supply chain, identification of and introduction to prospective customers, and forwarding to ESA programmes that may support further. Element 2 Component 1- Business Validation. Providing support to Economic Operators who are looking to improve their ability to achieve sustained commercial growth through maturation of their business plan and strategy. Activities may cover offering consultancy regarding business development, go-to-market capabilities, access to finance and networking for expansion towards other markets.It has been agreed with the National Delegation of Spain to implement an ESA Technology Broker there.The contract would be for 4 years with a total of 2, 095, 000 drawn from the Spain's contribution to Element 1 - Innovate of ScaleUp. It will include the following activities, and funding breakdown: Execution of main ESA Technology Broker tasks with a scope covering both spin-off and spin-in activities.Funding Amount 300, 000 Euro The ESA Spark Funding contribution from ESA to Economic Operators with a scope covering both spin-off and spin-in activities. There will be four Phase 1 spin-off projects selected receiving 75, 000 Euro each and one Phase 2 spin-off project selected receiving 150, 000 Euro. There will also be four Phase 1 spin-in projects selected receiving 150, 000 Euro each and one Phase 2 spin-in project selected receiving 300, 000 Euro each.Funding Amount 1, 485, 000 Euro IP for Commercialisation - support to a minimum of 10 companies.Funding Amount 110, 000 Euro Prepare for Space - support to a minimum of 20 companies.Funding Amount 200, 000 Euro
