1. introduction:

the town of pincher creek is a small town in southwestern alberta with a population of 3, 642.

regarding infrastructure, pincher creek obtains its water from two (2) raw water intakes (one on the castle river and one on the pincher creek) which delivers raw water to a class 2 water treatment plant located within the town limits. wastewater is pumped from town to lagoons located north of the town boundary. the town is comprised of approximately 37km of sanitary sewer gravity mains, 15km of storm water gravity mains, 46km of watermains and 52km of roads.



2. a general description of pincher creek`s projected needs from selected engineering firms is provided below. services will be provided on an as-needed basis at the request of pincher creek. pincher creek may request the provision of other services and in respect of other projects from the selected engineering firms from time to time, in its sole discretion.

3. pincher creek anticipates that it may, in future, require engineering services in the following areas:

a) survey;

b) regulatory support and monitoring;

c) public consultation;

d) building condition assessments; life cycle costing; asset management

e) infrastructure condition assessments; life cycle costing; asset management

f) conceptual and functional planning studies;

g) detailed design;

h) cost estimates;

i) tendering;

j) construction administrative services; and

k) other miscellaneous support that may arise.

4. pincher creek anticipates that the types of projects for which it may, in future, require the engineering services, include the following:

a) renovations and/or additions to existing buildings;

b) water distribution, sanitary collection and storm collection system maintenance, replacement and/or upgrades;

c) water treatment equipment maintenance and/or upgrades;

d) wastewater lagoon maintenance and/or upgrades;

e) roadway system preventative maintenance and/or reconstruction;

f) stormwater management;

g) environmental projects;

h) earthworks and grading projects;

i) other miscellaneous projects that may arise.
