UNDP invites proposal for the Engineering Detailed Design Services for Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project-Phase 1B. This project aims to reduce the vulnerability of the northern section of the central lagoon shoreline of Fogafale Island, the urban capital of Tuvalu, against the impacts of wave inundation, shoreline erosion, and inundation caused by sea level rise. The funding for the project planning and design phase is provided by the New Zealands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).The competent Engineering Design Company shall undertake the following tasks as a minimum:1. Surveying works. To carry out the required detailed Topographic and Hydrological surveys for the TCAP 1B sites to validate and confirm the previously collected LiDAR data survey is still valid to inform the detailed design and construction planning.2. Feasibility and Concept Design Assessments Undertake a Feasibility and Options assessment in consultation with the Government of Tuvalu, the Donors and the ESIA company to confirm the basis of design of the TCAP1B reclamation. The assessment will also include a review of the TCAP1 and TCAP1A reclamations to ascertain any lessons learned where possible. Additional technical investigations such as numerical/physical modelling, geotechnical surveys, metocean monitoring, and material quality assessments may be utilised by the Consultant as deemed necessary. 3.
