Wageningen Campus will expand by realizing area development 'Campus Oost' in the Born Oost area. Within Campus East, a total of approximately 80, 000 m2 gross floor area (GFA) of new knowledge-intensive activity is planned. This knowledge-intensive activity will be realized by selling approximately 5 to 8 plots to investors or organizations that will establish themselves here, within the knowledge ecosystem of Wageningen Campus. The Wageningen Research Foundation will be the owner remain off the land between the plots, the greenery and the infrastructure in the plan area. Because WUR itself will not be a user of the energy system to be constructed, significant long-term involvement is not logical. Given the central role of WUR However, a facilitating role is important in the development of Campus East. By outsourcing the design, financing, construction, management and operation of the energy system to an Energy Service Company (ESCo) through a Concession, the Wageningen Campus facilitate this process.
