Notice is Hereby Given by Government of Yukon, Community Services, of Its Intent to Contract with Iain D Seal Professional Corp to Provide the Following Services: Background the Medical Director Requires a Working Knowledge of the Components of an Emergency Medical Services. Pre-Hospital Care is an Integral Part of Emergency Medicine and the Medical Director is Directly Involved in the Education and Direction of Yukons Ems Personnel and the Continuous Quality Improvement Process Within Ems Systems. a Medical Director Must have Sound Knowledge of the Function and Operation of the Ems System and Clear Understanding of the Important Issues Involved in Bringing Medical Accountability to Medical Care Provided by Non-Physicians. Improved Patient Care will Result when a Well-Qualified, Actively Involved Medical Director Participates in the Ems System Standards for Medical Interventions and Are Responsible for Maintaining Quality Assurance. This Includes Providing Medical Direction and Management of the Ems System, Approving Standards, Policies, Protocols and Procedures. Continuous Evaluation of the System Through an Established Quality Insurance Program is Necessary to Ensure that Pre-Hospital Providers Meet or Exceed the Standard of Care in All Patient Encounters Scope of Work: the Department of Community Services Requires a Medical Director with a Minimum of Two Years Experience Who is a Licenced Medical Physician to Act As a Consultant and Advisor for Yukon Emergency Medical Services (Yems). All Physicians Working in Yukon Territory Must be Licensed by the Yukon Medical Council, Pursuant to the Yukon Medical Profession Act and Regulations. the Medical Director Primarily Acts in the Capacity of a Medical Oversight Physician. This is Accomplished Through Meetings with Yems Management and Staff, Primarily the Clinical Operations Manager. the Medical Director will Provide On-Going Independent Audits of Yems Guidelines, Training and Review Patient Care, to Ensure that Processes Meet Current Medicals Standards. Deliverables: Medical Administration - Provide Advice on the Establishment, Implementation or Changes in Patient Care Guidelines, Procedure, Policies, Record Systems for Tracking of Medical Statistics, Guideline Compliance, Quality Assurance, Cardiac Arrest and Patient Outcomes by Maintaining an up to Date Knowledge of Current Research Finding of Evidence Based Medicine. - As Required, Provide Independent Auditing of Existing Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance Programs and Provide Written or Electronic Feedback to Medical Employees and Clinical Operations Manager. - Advise, Upon Request in the Design, Establishment and Maintenance of In-House Emergency Medical Training and Education Programs for Ems Staff. - Participate with Ems Staff, Upon Request, for the Establishment and Maintenance of Medical Qualification Standards, Paramedic and Flight Nurse...
